Beautiful Brooklyn Home

townhouse interiors

This was one of the first projects of The Brooklyn Home Company – Real Estate Developers, Design & Build General Contractors and Architectural Design Consulting. The 4 story townhouse in center Park Slope was renovated and the owner’s duplex was completely gutted. All the work – from the interior and exterior plans, decoration, built-ins and custom work were designed and built by the family-run cooperative of artists and builders.

Extra large double hung windows flood the home with natural light.
A nine foot extension was added to the garden and parlor floors. The library ladder leads to an extra lofted guest room.
Large built-in shelves were built to house the owner’s various collections.

A second living room was added downstairs furnished with all custom furniture.

The bathroom door was taken from a NH sheep barn

Behind the glass partition, stairs lead down to the garden floor

The guest room was inspired by the sleeping quarters on a ship

Behind the mirrored doors a floor to ceiling built in adds additional drawers and shelving.

The kitchen, which is entirely within the new extension, features a Sapele island countertop and a vintage American Standard farm sink. The reclaimed shelving was from a mill in upstate NY.
The hallway leads to a home office, guest room, full bathroom, living room and the private garden.

A floor to ceiling panel of frosted glass allows natural light into the bathroom
