The inspiration for the designers of Hirsch Bedner Associates was revolved around the tales of 1001 Arabian Nights as well as the color purple itself – the jewel toned purple color that seemed prevalent throughout various illustrations and interpretations of the tales. Researching for the project, the designers discovered that the color purple was first produced by an expensive dye called Tyrian Purple, originating in Lebanon.
HBA: “The main challenges of this projec were timeliness, a shoestring budjet, and local sourcing. The goal was to finish the new look before Ramadan which in essence gave us approximately 4 months from conception to installation. …the project was a huge success. Quick, cheap, and effective, revenue for this area doubled within the first week of operating.”
The project recently received the prestigious award of the Society of British Interior Design.
