Impeccable and Stylish Designer’s Apartment in Madrid

This stylish old apartment full of radiant light pouring through the balconies belongs to interior designer Miguel García de Valcárcel. The apartment was abandoned and never touched since it was built in 1930. To preserve the flair of the old building the designer installed the herringbone parquet flooring and classically inspired ceiling moldings to accentuate the heights. To bring in a modern feel the designer decorated the space with 20th century modern furniture, had the antique armchairs reupholstered with modern fabrics and decorated the walls with contemporary artworks. The furnishings are few, but have great aesthetic value and mark, together with pictures and sculptures create an ultra chic style. The neutral palette helps maintain visual harmony.
